Lead Product Designer
About Wee Ones
For nearly 50 years, Wee Ones has been a leader in children’s hair accessories. Family-owned and based in the St. Louis area, we’re best known for our iconic bows and patented no-slip clip, but our creativity extends into socks, headwear, and other accessories.
We may be a small company, but we think big. We create. We innovate. We collaborate. Our team takes pride in designing and delivering high-quality, trend-forward products to retailers and moms across the country. We’re a fun, energetic, and creative bunch who love pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in children’s fashion.
The Opportunity
We are seeking a Lead Product Designer to set the creative vision and manage the development of our accessory lines. This role requires both strategic leadership and hands-on execution—guiding design direction while staying deeply involved in product development.
What You'll Do
- Lead Design Vision: Drive product development from concept through production, aligning design decisions with company goals.
- Hands-On Creation: Create, prototype, and iterate daily—yes, that includes tying bows (training provided!). Quick, creative experimentation is at the heart of what we do.
- Graphic & Technical Design: Create graphics, prints, and tech packs for sourced products. Translate trends into compelling product concepts.
- Sourcing & Partnerships: Discover new materials at markets and shows, source globally, and collaborate with manufacturers to bring ideas to life.
- Project Management: Lead seasonal collections, oversee licensed and private label projects, and juggle multiple priorities while keeping timelines on track.
- Collaboration & Team Leadership: Supervise an Assistant Designer and work closely with Production, Marketing, and Sales to ensure product and brand success.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in fashion, graphic, product design, or related field.
- 3+ years in a product-focused design role (fashion accessories experience a plus).
- Strong project management skills with a proven ability to manage multiple products at the same time. Detail oriented, organized, decisive, and deadline driven.
- A maker at heart with passion for creating things by hand.
- A trend spotter with a proven track record of translating trends into successful products.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (especially Illustrator) and Microsoft Office.
- Collaborative spirit with excellent communication skills.
- Positive energy, boundless curiosity, and love of learning new skills.
