Rett Syndrome

For Wee Ones, bringing awareness to Rett syndrome is deeply personal. Little Lucy, the sweet granddaughter of our Wee Ones owners, Miles and Gina Faust, was recently diagnosed with the life-altering condition that affects her ability to walk, talk and use her hands. This rare disorder will have a significant impact on Lucy and the people who love her for years to come.

Every individual with Rett is unique and so are their symptoms, which begin as early as 6 months old when parents see their child miss development milestones and lose abilities they had already gained. The condition leads to severe impairment that affects nearly every aspect of life.

We are honored to use our platform to shine a light on this lesser-known, but devastating, disorder. Sharing Lucy’s story allows us to connect, foster understanding, and build a community of support.

Learn more about Rett Syndrome by visiting the International Rett Syndrome Foundation (IRSF) website. IRSF is doing amazing work and providing much needed hope for Lucy and others affected by Rett Syndrome.

We also invite you to join “Lu’s Crew” by donating to Lucy’s fundraising page benefitting IRSF.  Every donation to ISRF supports vital research, treatment and therapies, helping create a world without Rett.

Together, we can make a difference and be the hope that changes Lucy’s life and others affected by Rett syndrome.
